Summer is the most challenging time of the year for students at risk of hunger. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) offers three programs in Kentucky that create a summer nutrition safety net for children.
One of those programs, the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (SEBT), provides a onetime $120 lump sum grocery benefit per eligible student, which can be redeemed at any location that accepts EBT. We know many eligible families may not be aware of this benefit for their school-aged children, so we encourage you to visit https://KYSEBT.ky.gov/ to register.
Kentucky children can also access free meals at more than 2,000 sites across the Commonwealth. Find your nearest site by texting FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304, or by visiting the Summer Meal Site Finder at https://www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sitefinder.
